And welcome back everybody. It is Sunday, august 11th 2024. This is the Sunday News Edition on Real Clear Podcast, with your host, lucas Klein. I'll have some extended commentary. Today we're going to be going over political, social and global topics, so let's get right into it. Cori Bush, the second squad member to lose her 2024 primary, has happened largely as a result of a split within the Democratic Party over Israel. This is good news. The squad has been largely a joke and Cori Bush has been one of the most ridiculous members. I guess I'm getting into commentary right away. A quick tour of brainyquotecom will show the various genius quotes from Cori Bush.
Speaker 1:Quote racism is not just slavery and Jim Crow. It is the daily violence that is enacted on our communities each and every day that we live in this white supremacist society. Ironically, another quote is words can build up communities or break them down. Interesting former Representative Bush, here's one quote freedom is not simply intended to mean freedom from enslavement. Freedom is an affirmative goal. It is one that promises liberation, safety and peace of mind. It is the promise of a full, prosperous and joyous life. I don't know about you, but I'm not sure that's what freedom means. I'm not sure freedom means the promise of a full, prosperous and joyous life. That sounds like heaven actually. Here's another quote Our foreign policy must be rooted in a love for all of humanity. Apparently, our foreign policy must not be rooted in the best interest of Americans. It should be rooted in a love for all of humanity. However, she goes on to say white supremacy is deeply entrenched in our nation's DNA, yet she advocates love for all of humanity. I'm getting flummoxed here.
Speaker 1:Bush was unseated by Wesley Bell for the Missouri House representative and Bell had about nine million dollars put behind him by an Israel supportive pact and, according to the Jerusalem Post, she made a fiery, resentful speech. Here's one quote in her concession speech All you did was take some of the strings off. As much as I loved my job, all they did was radicalize me. Now they should be afraid. She continued on to say APAC, that's the pact that supported her opponent. I'm coming to tear your kingdom down. What a lovely, unifying person who loves all of humanity. Of course, as I'd mentioned, she is the second of the squad membership the informal squad to be booted from Congress. Let us hope they all are booted. It was Jamal Bowman who was defeated just about two months ago. He's the gentleman who pulled the fire alarm in Congress and made up the lie that he fell into it. Bush the post goes on is one of only two Congress members to vote against a measure to deny entry to the US to the Hamas terrorists who perpetrated the October 7th attacks against Israel, and she has refused to acknowledge Hamas terrorists who perpetrated the October 7th attacks against Israel, and she has refused to acknowledge Hamas as a terrorist organization.
Speaker 1:I'd like to say that a crackdown on creatures such as this, being a member of Congress is a sign of regaining national sanity. But what, then, of the election of such people Moving right along? This week, according to Politico, the Iranians have seized control of a 271-page dossier that the Trump campaign has put together on the running mate, jd Vance, representative from Ohio. That dated back to February. Included in the dossier is a section called Potential Vulnerabilities in caps in caps. I can't wait to read this. I assume it'll be nothing but boilerplate, as which campaign is going to put such saucy things in writing? I doubt they will, but there will be some boilerplate vulnerabilities and it's going to be a smorgasbord for media smearing against the campaign. It'll probably be somewhat successful. This is strange.
Speaker 1:We have had a spate of large-scale cyber attacks this past year. Yours truly was part of one of them, in the sense that the entire healthcare industry had a crackdown, a loss of their insurance processing, which affected my private practice in psychology greatly. It was the largest healthcare hack in history. Now we have presidential campaigns actually being hacked.
